About Me
For over 15 years, I’ve built a career in visual storytelling, producing award-winning documentaries, short features, and multimedia content for broadcast, distribution, and digital platforms. My expertise spans photography, videography, editing, motion graphics, and color grading—delivering projects for universities, nonprofits, and arts organizations that balance creative vision with technical precision.
My credits include nationally broadcast documentaries such as Dorothea Lange: Grab A Hunk of Lightning (PBS American Masters), Awakening in Taos (KNME-PBS), and Nasario Remembers the Río Puerco (KNME-PBS), with additional films recognized at national and international festivals.
Currently, I serve as Videographer & Multi-Media Designer at Southeastern Louisiana University, producing high-quality video and photography for major communications initiatives. I also bring experience as a film production instructor and FAA Part 107 Certified drone operator, integrating both traditional craft and emerging technologies into my work.
At the core of my practice is a commitment to creating innovative, impactful media that engages and inspires audiences.
From My Collaborators
“She was phenomenal.”
“Shelene has worked for me creating a series of short films, each of which required her to learn, in less than a week, all new information, many characters and the intent of the story. She was phenomenal. Not only can she have two editing systems open at once side by side and be working competently on both – say Final Cut and Avid – but she creates sensitive sequences in no time at all.”
— Dyanna Taylor, Raven Rouge Films
“Commitment and passion…a great editor for life.”
“I have had the pleasure of working with Shelene as a teaching colleague, as a member of my film faculty, and as the editor of my feature film, Final Cutz. Shelene brings a commitment and passion to all of her endeavors, enhancing everything she touches with her skilled talent, keen insights, and especially, her wonderful personality. I am now privileged to call her my very dear friend, and I so look forward to the next project we work on together. When you find a great editor, you hang on to them for life.”
— Liam Lockhart, HollyFox Productions
“A stunning piece of work.”
“Shelene edited a fundraising trailer for our feature documentary Still Dreaming. The task at hand was complicated and delicate and she created a stunning piece of work, which has served us well in the making of the film.”
— Jilann Spitzmiller, Philomath Films
